It was a truly independent industry in those days.

Also - Woods sent Crowther an EMAIL!?!?! I had no idea this was going on in the late 70s!! Sure, it was probably called "Laser-letter" or something, but still, the fact you could do that before I was born is amazing to me.

Gaming critique is going to become huge as we get older, so this website has great relevance.

For me, games are special because I feel they are the artform that has grown in tandem with my lifetime. I love films, music, literature, but they were all pretty much fully fledged by the time I was old enough to be a good judge, but I remember when Super Mario was "amazing graphics" and Sam and Max and Fate of Atlantis just blew me away!!

  • I haven't got the hardware or can't run the right emulator to play it.
  • I can't find a useable copy of the game to play.
